No one can pass up a chocolate chip cookie! Especially when they are full of good-for-you high fiber grains and cereals!

Yields: Makes 28-30 cookies


1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup white sugar

1 banana, mashed

1/4 cup non-hydrogenated, dairy-free spread

1 1/4 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup old fashion oats

1 cup high fiber cereal

1 cup chocolate chips

1/4 cup nuts, chopped


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. In a smaller bowl, mash the banana, and add the sugars, spread, and vanilla. Mix dry and wet ingredients together. Slowly add oats, cereal, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts. Spoon into 1 1/2- inch rounded balls. Flatten slightly and bake for 8 - 10 minutes.
